Yay, back to Mole! I must have a sweet gig, I'm excited to go to work... if you could call it that. I went in and spent all day cleaning the sound stage. Larry bought a bunch of wire(cables) and other stiff from Disney studios, they cut their production department and got rid of everything. I also got my pictures from Boston downloaded.
Here is what I pass everyday to and from work:
It belonged to Herb Alpert and A&M Records until 1999 before the Jim Henson Company purchased it. The song "We Are the World" was recorded here and Peter Frampton recorded "Frampton Comes Alive" here. Other artists A&M has had under contract here included Sting and the Police, Amy Grant, the Moody Blues, Eric Clapton, ABBA, Bryan Adams, the Bee Gees, Van Morrison, Quincy Jones, The Carpenters, and Blues Traveler
Before A&M records, CBS owned it and shot a few classic TV shows here like The Adventures of Superman, "The Red Skelton Show" and "Perry Mason". And before CBS, it was designed, built and run by none other then the man himself, Mr. Charlie Chaplin! He founded United Artist here and filmed some of his most brilliant masterpieces including, "The Gold Rush", "Modern Times", "City Lights" and my favorite, "The Great Dictator". Charlie even left his footprints in the once wet cement outside of the studio's Sound Stage 3... I hope I get to see them one day. I pass this thing every day to Mole!!!
PhillM tip of the day:
Electronic HMI ballasts are 90% more sensitive then magnetic ballasts. They can handle sun, water, power surge issues, physical abuse even name calling better then the electronic ballasts.
